’21 Jump Street’ is a film featuring two cops Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) who go under cover by joining a secret Jump Street unit. They use their young appearances to go under cover as high-school students and turn in their guns in exchange for backpacks. The two are set out to shut down a dangerous drug ring but as the film plays on they reminisce of their earlier years and the anxiety they had when they went through a teenagers.
The film 21 Jump Street is also a spoof of a 1980s TV series that starred Johnny Dep. The film led the U.S. and canadian box offices this weekend generating $35 million ticket sales for Columbia Pictures. This comes as great news because the film was only estimated to pull in between $28 million to $31 million by the Box Office Guru and Box Office.com.
