Hermano is a film about A young man by the name of Daniel (Fernando Moreno) struggling to make his way out of poverty. Based in Venezuela, the drama sets it when Daniel is caught in the crossfire of a criminal act. When he was a baby, he was abandoned by his mother in a slum neighborhood in Caracas. Daniel was taken in and raised by Graciela (Marcela Giron). Graciela raises him alongside her son Julio (Eliu Armas).
The two boys grow up to become gifted soccer players. Julio transforms into the captain of a successful local club and Daniel becomes their star striker. Julio and Daniel play well together and seem poised for a career in the big leagues. However, their future becomes uncertain when Julio’s mother, Graciela, is killed when she’s unwittingly caught in a shootout between members of a criminal gang.
Moreover, as both Julio and Daniel are shattered by their loss, Daniel must also struggle with the knowledge that he saw the murder. Not only did he see the shooter but he also knows the shooter’s identity. The biggest question he faces is wether he should or should not reveal it because would implicate members of his own team making him a marked man.
