CNN reported that the plane was flying at 28,000 feet when it began to plummet. When the plane was found after the crash it was reported that there were no survivors. Mexico’s top transportation official said the plane carrying Jenni Rivera spiraled to the ground in a tailspin that may have surpassed 600 mph which is just ridiculously scary to think about. Mexican officials reported the plane crashed in a remote area of northern Mexico mountains which is about 9,000 feet above sea level. They also mentioned that figuring out what caused the crash could take them up to a year as the plane was just destroyed when they found it.

Rivera was a Mexican American born and raised in Long Beach California and was living in Encino California in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Both her parents were Mexican immigrants who raised Rivera along with her four brothers and sister.

While Jenni was still in high school she became pregnant with the first of her five children and married the child’s father José Trinidad Marín in 1984. The two divorced in 1992 and that same year Rivera began her professional career in music. Definitely a good move as one door closes another new adventure opens.
