The 68-year-old former Penn State assistant football coach, Jerry Sandusky, was found guilty of 45 of 48 counts of child sexual abuse late Friday night. The convicted child rapist remains the hot topic over this weekend even as his lawyer, Karl Rominger, announces, “Jerry Sandusky still says he’s not guilty”.
Jerry Sandusky was once a man of great respect as he was once considered Hall of Fame coach Joe Paterno’s heir. Moreover, he not only was a Penn State graduate but he also served on coach Joe Paterno’s staff from 1969-1999.
After the news broke out and all hell went loose in Penn State, Sandusky was immediatley arrested and put behind bars. Jerry Sandusky was ruthlessly taunted for hours during his first night in jail back in December. His fellow inmates sang thefamous lyrics … “Hey teacher, leave those kids alone!”, by Pink Floyd.
Furthermore, this past Friday the court had reached a verdict. Sandusky looks to face a maximum of 442 years in prison. And it only gets better for the once prestigious coach. He was convicted Friday of 45 counts for sexually abusing 10 boys over 15 years
Currently, Sandusky is being held at the Centre County jail, where he is kept away from other inmates and under psychological review. This is being done in order for them to determine what the next step towards sentencing will be. There are about three months left to go for the 68-year-old retired defensive coach.
