Pumpkin Pie Recipe

As fall and winter roll in traditions continue and everyones taste buds are craving a deliciously sweet dessert Pumpkin pie. Pumpkin is a symbol for harvest time and its typically featured through the holiday season as well during Halloween Thanksgiving and Christmas both in the United States and Canada.

Ingredients:

  • 1  egg
  • 1  tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 3/4  cup white sugar
  • 1/2  teaspoon salt
  • 1  1/2  cups pumpkin puree
  • 1  1/2  cups evaporated milk
  • 1/2  teaspoon groung nutmeg
  • 1/2  teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2  teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2  tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1 9 inch single crust pie pastry

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F or 230 degrees C
  2. Place pumpkin puree in bow and add the sugar gradually while beating it well.
  3. Follow by stirring and add in flour, salt and spices while stirring.
  4. Than stir in the corn syrup and continue to beat it well.
  5. Stir in the slightly beaten egg and then slowly add the evaporated milk mixing it all until its well blended.
  6. Pour the batter into the unbaked pie shell.
  7. Bake at 450 degrees F or 230 degrees C for about 10 minutes.
  8. Reduce the oven temperature to 325 degrees F or 165 degrees F and continue baking pie for an additional 30 minutes or until you can insert a knife into the mixture and it comes out clean.
