The New Quentin Tarantino Film, Django Unchaned, is set in the South two years before the Civil War. Django, played by Jamie Foxx, is a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with a German-born bounty hunter known by the name of Dr. King Schultz. Schultz, played by Christoph Waltz, is on a trail to find the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. Schultz acquires Django with a promise to give him his freedom and his wife, upon the capture of the Brittle Brothers.. dead or alive.
Through out the film Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Django picks up amazing hunting skills while remaining focused on one goal: finding and rescuing his wife. Djangos wife, Broomhilda, played by Kerry Washington, was lost to the slave trade long ago.
Django and Schultz’s search eventually leads them to Calvin Candie, played Leonardo DiCaprio, the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation where slaves are groomed by to battle each other for sport.
Django Unchained looks like typical Tarantino Film; bloody, funny, quirky, and, just plain awesome.
