Solar Power Road by Scott Brusaw video of the Solar Roadway prototype!

The Solar Roadways project is currently in the process of paving roads with solar panels that you can drive on. The Co-founder of the Solar project Scott Brusaw has made major steps forward since he started back in 2007.

Scott Brusaw is an american electrical engineer who has developed a system of solar powered roads in order to change the planet as well as the face of national highways.  His project is known as Solar Roadway aims to replace the existing concrete and asphalt surfaces that pave our roads with solar road panels due to the immense exposure of the sun.

The idea of turning a road or highway into an energy source is genius and we support Scott Brusaw and the rest of Solar Roadway as they contribute to our planet by tackling on the future. We wish they all the luck as they do what they can in order to make our planet a more efficient and greener one too live on.

Hypothetically speaking, the Solar Power Roadway will resolve some serious extreme winter climate problems all over the world. Below are two pictures of winter scenarios. Due to the solar power roadway, the panels will eliminate ice and snow buildup on roads, sidewalks, pathways and anywhere where they are placed.

Hypothetical Solar Power Roadway in a Winter Scenario

Cities like that are used to extreme winter climates will no longer have the expense of snow removal or have to deal with the chemicals that are normally used to clear the roads. The Project and technology is currently being introduced in driveways, pathways, patios, sidewalks, parking lots, playgrounds, in order to see them convert before proceeding onto public roads.

This Solar Roadway project is highlighted as one of many planet-friendly solutions in the feature film by YERT – Your Environmental Road Trip.

Have you seen the short Solar Roadways directed by Michele Ohayon for the Focus Forward collection?
