Star Wars Episode 7
The Walt Disney Co has recently agreed to purchase Lucasfilm which is the production studio behind Star Wars movies for roughly $4.05 billion in cash as well as stock. As soon as Lucasfilm agreed the Walt Disney studio immediately announced that they would release a Star Wars Episode 7 to add to the series. The film has been announced to be released in 2015 and is going to be the first one in what we expect to be a brand new trilogy.
This blockbuster deal that Disney made with Lucasfilm will be another addition to there lates geek culture phase. In 2006 Disney bought Pixar and Marvel Studios in 2009 which eventually led to the making of the Number 3 all time grossing film The Avengers.
The creator of the story George Lucas has said for some time now that he originally had envisioned to create nine Star Wars movies. However since he recently announced his retirement from big budget movie making it seemed like just dust in the wind. Sadly he announced it after only two trilogies. So hopefully this turns out great and we get some cool new films.

When asked about the situation Lucas responded: For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next. It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime.
Furthermore Disney looks like they are about to make all that money invested right back into their pockets as the rumors of powerhouse 2015 have begun. All over the web movie analyst and fans have begun talking about an Avengers Sequel and the Star Wars Episode 7 release in 2015. And since the creator of Stars Wars George Lucas said he originally envisioned having nine movies we are excited to see what else is to come!
